Analyzing a palm is a holistic activity. In order to truly appreciate what it has to say you need to take in the big picture. I start by looking at the outside of the palm and working in. I notice the shape, the fingers, the set the angles, the thumb, the color, texture.
Then I look at the lines, I just look to see if they are busy or not busy. Some people have very busy palms with lines all over. Some people have fairly clear palms. All of these things need to be considered and a general picture of the person can start to be formed.
Then I start to look at each piece in detail and see how it fits in with my picture. If a piece does not fit in, then I have to wonder why. A non-fitting piece is significant.
For example. If you have a person who has long conical (point) fingers, and a spatulate hand (rectangular), you know they have a tendency to be deep thinkers and like planning, and thinking. If this person has a short curved head line, you should have a little bell go off in your head. A short curved head line is indicative of a creative person who is more impulsive, or perhaps less educated.
These to indicators are at odds. From here I would examine the rest of the palm and determine which is the dominate force and is being played out. This type of situation may indicate a person who is by nature a deep thinker but was unable to complete education, and was forced to find unexpected solutions to issues. This person could have a tendency to think deeply about creative things but not necessarily something that will advance them in daily life. For example, they may think deeply about the physics of Star Trek and build worlds around that base reality.
This is not a negative, as that energy can be channeled, if the person is aware of it.
So, the first approach to reading a palm is to get a sense of the palm and a person, then look at the details, look for things that don’t match up, and expand from there.
